As Canada's multicultural publication for the salon and spa professional, we balance industry insight with cutting-edge trends — covering everything from inspirational and educational content to beauty, business, and the newest products. We're proud to present the VZN Awards: an awards ceremony that recognizes all things that inspire us as artists. All things that evoke true VZN.

What is "VZN"?
The VZN Awards are a Canadian image-based competition for beauty professionals and artists across the globe — creating a new standard for industry awards. We've curated unique entrance categories that allow high-calibre artists to showcase their creative capabilities across hair, makeup, music, fashion, dance, photography, and visual arts.
This is an Oscar-like event that brings creatives together to celebrate, recognize, and acknowledge extraordinary vision. Winners will proudly be recognized as a VZNary within the beauty industry.
Entries are judged by a diverse panel of carefully chosen, world-renowned experts. Every entry is scored on a 1–10 scale against published criteria. Top scorers from the first round of judging advance to the next round, where winners are chosen.
Submission Details
Submission fee: $110 per entry
Submission deadline: June 23rd, 2026
Eligibility: Artists in hair, makeup, music, fashion, dance, photography, and visual arts
Open to: Artists worldwide
All finalists receive one free ticket to attend the VZN Awards

Regulations & Categories
General Rules

Artists may enter multiple categories. However, only one entry is allowed per category annually. The same collection may be entered into a different category.

All participating stylists must be credited accordingly — include all artists' names, roles, and applicable handles.

All submissions must be in digital format, uploaded online.

All images must be the same orientation (all horizontal or all vertical), with the exception of the photography categories.

High-resolution photographs and the original, unmodified photographs of models must both be submitted.

All submitted work must have been completed at most 12 months prior to the submission deadline.

A maximum two-year win in any category is permitted. A one-year grace period applies for all double winners.

Collaboration work cannot be entered twice in the same category by different artists.

Each submission must contain three different models.

Entries that do not meet the standard requirements will be disqualified.
Nominating Categories
Some categories are by nomination only. Individuals can nominate themselves. All nominated experts must have at least 7 years' experience in their practice. Artists must receive a minimum of 5 nominations to be eligible to submit work.
